Mini interview with Ana W. Fawkes, the author of The Secret Wolf with a giveaway x 2

Ana W. Fawkes wanted to share the following:

What book are you reading now? – I am actually really into dark erotic romance books right now. There are too many to name but I’ve been scooping them up like crazy. Some push boundaries, but they are all wild and hot to read. Besides that I hooked on biker books and, of course, paranormal romance books!

What is your current “work in progress” or upcoming projects? – The second book in the Full Moon Mercy book is now available, and the third one is in the editing process. I’ll keep that series running through the summer and into autumn. I do have an idea for a wild trilogy… but that’s still far off before I’m able to officially speak about it.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? – Right now I have to be very organized with so many guys in Full Moon Mercy and the surrounding clubs. I have a few pages of members, descriptions, etc. just to keep my head on straight here. I love getting to know these guys and beasts each day I write them!

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? I don’t necessarily have a *favorite* but right now, off the top of my head, I’m really into Anne Rice once again. Her writing is so smooth yet complicated. Her sentences are beautifully structured and the writing just sucks you in… you can read 100 pages and not think twice of it. I love that.

Do you have any advice for other writers? – You just have to love what you do and just keep writing. It’s so old and cliché to write, but it’s true. I sit down and am excited to write about bikers who are werewolves. I keep myself interested because if I can’t my own attention, how can I keep the readers??? So my advice is simple… JUST. KEEP. WRITING.

Book Description:

Welcome to the world of FULL MOON MERCY.

This isn't just a book about a MC... this is about a brotherhood, a group of men who share a bond not just within the MC, but within their souls...

They're men. They're beasts. They are... FULL MOON MERCY.

Sitting next in line to run Full Moon Mercy Motorcycle Club, Lucas Trowwer has kept his fair share of secrets. Whether it's the cover up of murders in town or the fact that all the men that sit at the table are truly beasts on the inside, Lucas knows the line between paranormal and reality is very thin.

When bodies start piling up in town, the evidence points to a rival shifter crew looking to take down the MC, and the last thing Lucas needs is to save an innocent woman and fall for her. His trust must now reside in a woman who is beyond beautiful... and completely human. If things couldn't get any more confusing, a one night stand from Lucas's past comes forward with news that could change the path of Full Moon Mercy and Lucas is trapped within secrets, romance, and bloodshed.

There's a war brewing in the town of Mercy... and deep inside Lucas's beast of a heart.

My Thoughts:

I have been to the dark side. The Secret Wolf was extremely different from the werewolf books that I usually read. The plot was great but it's deliverance could have been a little clearer. I was left with many unanswered questions. :-(

This book was gory and vicious. These wolves think nothing of eating human flesh. :-(

There was oodles and oodles of action, some steam and suspense in this book about a rough and ready werewolf biker group.

It was a new concept and it was different but I prefer my Alphas to be a little less blood thirsty and a little more teddy bearish. ;-)

If you love werewolves and want to try something different, this may be just what you are looking for.

I received an ecopy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I enjoyed it but it was not a book I'm likely to read again. Many of the characters had attitudes that I really didn't care for. In addition to all of the viciousness, you can imagine why even though I enjoyed it, this isn't going on my favorite's list.

I probably will read the next book though, just to see what happens to Leah.

  1. oh.... what a cold shower.... he idea of werewolves and bikers was extremely interesting but if it's the kind of werewolves without moral/ honor then i prefer to pass..... gory and eating human flesh.... not for me i do prefer my werewolves to be a proper mind they can be savage , wild still they can be compassionate and protective.... not sure it would be the case with these ones

  2. Hm.. yea its different to be reading like a horror novel and having the weres eating human flesh but in a romance.. not so much. I may still try it since I've been really into bikers lately.
